Scarves / Mufflers for friends (Multi-color scarf)

Here is the latest project that I finished - a multicolor scarf for my friend who lives in Jammu... I bet its gonna be very cold there soon... So I will be sending it across asap.

When I started this scarf and the other one that I posted here, I had thought I would finish it off pretty soon, because most of the scarves were completed even before I left from the US. Almost a year has been gone by without opening the bag of wool and needles !! However it really dint take me that long to finish working on this and the dotted one and both of them turned out awesome !!

I am proud of my talent and I owe it all to my mom who got it from her mom. Its a pleasure to see finished knitting / crochet products at last.

Here are some more pics -

Mile-A-Minute Scarf

I found this pattern when I bought Redheart yarn. I am not trying to advertise / promote yarns here but Redheart always gives away a free pattern on the back of the yarn cover.  Its called a Mile-A-Minute scarf because it builds up very fast. I took around 3 hours tops to make this scarf, and I am a beginner and I work very slowly. Also, this is another reversible scarf pattern that I found that was cute and doable. I am still debating on who looks good in this scarf, which I am going to decide soon enough, but as of now, there are no owners :)

Bavarian Crochet / Catherine Wheel / Yarn Eater Baby Blanket

I came across this pattern for a very gorgeous beautiful Bavarian crochet pattern when I was looking for baby blanket patterns for my sisters baby. At that time I knew my sister had a girl baby, and this seemed the perfect gift for the baby. I started off with a few yarns that I had bought during my Chickpet visit. When I started off with the blanket, I did not think much about how the rounds in the pattern would grow considerably bigger after every two rows. After two rows with each color, the woolen seemed not enough for more rows. They got over pretty soon. So I had to go shopping again for more yarn. This time I found pretty and bright colors which seemed perfect for a baby blanket and also I looked for multiple shades in the same colors. Here are some pics of the yarns I bought and the WIP blanket. Will update the post again when the entire blanket is done. Please leave your email ID in the comments section if you want the pattern.   More pics are yet to come - t

Chickpet Visit

The craft meet up that I attend once a month had organized a visit to Chickpet on Ramzan day - main reason being to pick up some Macrame yarn. The visit was very fruitful and I ended up buying some good yarn and some crochet threads - I'll have to find something to do with it - maybe ill make a colorful tatted dress for my baby or something (in case its a girl - else ill have to find something else to do with it). I was overwhelmed by the amount of craft items we find there. I felt like buying anything and everything.  Oh, I forgot to say - I bought some large wooden beads to make my purse handle with. It was tough to find beads in that size. We had to look high and low. Since many of the stores sell in wholesale amounts there, its tough to get a small count of beads. Smaller ones are readily available. I just hope the purse turns out beautiful and its all worth the hunt. - So
